  • Entries must be submitted by a parent, guardian, or teacher who is over 18 on behalf of the student via the Ellie Ment website entry form only.

  • Only one entry per child is allowed.

📩 Submissions

  • Stories must be original work written by the student.

  • Each entry must include:

    • ✏️  A written story (500–1,500 words)

    • 🎥  A video (1min max) of the student explaining what inspired their story

🧠 Originality & AI Use

  • Entries must not use AI tools (like ChatGPT) to write or rewrite the story.

  • We’re looking for the student’s own voice, ideas, and creativity.

  • If we suspect AI-generated content, the entry may be disqualified.

  • We will run all entries through a trusted AI-checking tool and if the score is +50% likely this automatically disqualify the applicant.

🏆 Prizes & Winners

  • Prizes are awarded both to schools/clubs and to individual students (as detailed in the competition overview).

  • Winners will be selected by our judging panel based on creativity, originality, storytelling, and presentation.

  • All winners will be notified by email to the adult who submitted their entry and the school/club, and results will be announced on our website and social media.

📸 Use of Content

By entering, you agree that:

  • We may publish, share, and adapt your child’s story and video across any media (website, social media, books, advertising, exhibitions, etc.)

  • We can use your child’s first name, age, and school name alongside their story or video.

  • We can use the content forever, royalty-free, and without restriction.

  • We may choose to edit or abridge stories or videos slightly for presentation, while keeping the core idea intact.

📚 Future Books & Ideas

  • We are actively working on more Ellie Ment books and spin-offs.

  • By entering the competition, you agree that:

    • We may already be developing similar ideas in our future stories.

    • If your child’s submission resembles future content we publish, it’s a coincidence, and you agree not to claim ownership or compensation.

    • We retain all rights to our Ellie Ment world, characters, and settings, now and in the future.

🔐 Privacy & Safety

  • We will never share personal contact details publicly.

  • Data is collected only for the purpose of running the competition and contacting winners.

  • You can request your data to be removed at any time.
